Whether it is a divorce you are trying to handle or you are looking into the legal facts of marriage and how you can protect your assets, it is best that you consult with a Christian lawyer. And since you probably want to make sure that everything that is relevant to your needs and wants are explained in the best possible manner, having someone on your side with the same beliefs plus an education in the law is key. But with so many people more focused on the law than religion anymore, how does a person go about finding a Christian lawyer to represent them? Is it even possible?

Luckily, the answer is yes. Finding a Christian lawyer is possible and it is probably a lot easier than may think. Of course, you will not find large billboards and yellow page ads talking about the religious beliefs of the attorney, but there are ways to get the information you need. Your marriage and all of your assets will depend on it. The first place to look for assistance is that of your place of worship or church. There may just be someone there that is educated in the law that can help you out.

If not, there may be someone there who has a son or daughter, a niece or nephew, or a neighbor is who is a Christian and someone who truly understands the law. Talk with friends, family, and fellow church members to see if any of them have had to hire someone in the recent past to understand the law that they were dealing with at any point in time. Gain referrals this way and ask if they know whether or not this particular lawyer is a Christian or not.

For those who are Christians but not an active member of a church, they may be concerned about whether or not finding a practicing Christian lawyer is going to be possible. It is, though. Finding someone practiced in the law who is also a Christian is not going to be that hard at all. All you have to do is ask, really. But many people find that they are afraid to ask about religion. The key is to ask without asking.

All you have to do is start with a list of lawyers in your area. The quickest and easiest way to get such a list is to contact your State Bar Association for a list of attorneys in your area that have experience with the law. Go through the list and call all of the ones that you are interested in the most and ask if he or she is a member of the Christian Legal Society. The answer you get will be a simple yes or no.

Those who reply with a no are not Christian lawyers, or at least are not advertised as such. Those who answer yes can be trusted to be a Christian who is practiced in the law. Even better yet, you could find someone knowledgeable in the law who is Christian by simply going to the source. Check out the website for the Christian Legal Society and look through the lists of attorneys that they have registered with them. From that you should have no problem finding someone to address your marriage, divorce, or any other issues that you are having with the law.

Since marriage and divorce are such huge issues, it is important to make sure that you are not taking this search lightly. In order to make sure that your marriage or divorce is done right, you want to make sure that you have someone you can trust working the law with you. If you are still unsure about which Christian lawyer to use, start listening to your local Christian radio stations. Christian lawyers will generally advertise on these stations.

You can even call random Christian churches in your area, even if you are not a member, and ask for referrals for a Christian lawyer. Churches are generally great about helping others not only find a lawyer but in helping their Christian lawyer friends find clients. Even though the process for finding a Christian lawyer may be a little longer than just going with the first name you see in the phone book, it is certainly worth it. You will be able to rest peacefully knowing that you have someone on your side that understands you and your needs.
