Promising Findings Released in Paralegal Compensation Survey
The average billing rate for paralegals was more than $150 per hour, with rates for most positions over $175 an hour, according to the 2008 Compensation Survey by ALM Research and the International Paralegal Management Association. Paralegal case managers billed around 1,642 hours, and senior paralegals about 1,530. The survey also showed that compensation for paralegals in US law firms and corporate departments has seen solid increases over the previous years, above cost-of-living increases.
A mail room clerk at the law firm Chadbourne & Parke in New York City was killed when he got caught in a conveyor belt somehow. The belt was not malfunctioning. OSHA was called to the scene.
