Mintz Levin recognized for its strong industrial focus
In an interesting find, the Corporate Board magazine has declared Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C, as the top corporate law firms in Boston. The results were brought out by the publication's seventh annual Legal Industry Research Survey. The directors serving on the board of publicly traded companies, and the in-house counsel were made part of the survey carried out by Corporate Board. The magazine accorded fourth rank to Mintz Levin this year. The magazine's July/August issue will carry the complete coverage of the survey results. Corporate Board Member's annual study covers top 20 national corporate law firms in America and the top five corporate law firms in 25 major metropolitan areas. To be counted among top 20 regional law firms, each firm not only had to compulsorily practice business, corporate or commercial laws but even had to be big in size when it comes to attorney numbers.

The unusual, rather amusing judgment came as Steven Cranley pleaded guilty to a number of charges after he attacked his former girlfriend. Cranley, now diagnosed by doctors with a dependent personality disorder, punched and kicked his girlfriend on an argument after a break-up. He also tried to stop her from calling the police by cutting the phone cord. However, when the police arrived he stabled himself with a butcher knife, which damaged his aorta. Doctors say that the man has difficulty handling rejection, which puts him at high risk to re-offend.
