Job Description:

- Litigate employment and housing-related civil rights actions in state and federal courts.
- Represent the Housing Authority in oral arguments before trial and appellate courts.
- Investigate and respond to discrimination charges and complaints filed with administrative agencies.
- Defend the Housing Authority in appeals from administrative determinations.
- Negotiate and draft settlement agreements.
- Respond to communications and notices related to potential or active litigation matters.
- Provide legal advice and counsel to other agency departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- One year of legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar, or six months of service as an Agency Attorney Interne.
- Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of employment.

Preferred Skills:

- Admission to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
- Knowledge of EEO and housing laws.
- Strong legal analysis and writing skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough factual investigations and research applicable law.
