**Job Title: Marketing & Business Development Manager**
**Job Responsibilities:**
As the Marketing & Business Development (MBD) Manager for the law firm's New York office, you will be tasked with several key responsibilities that contribute to the firm's regional and national business development initiatives. Your role will involve:
- Collaborating with the New York Office Managing Partners (OMPs) and the National Business Development Team to develop and execute business development research and planning for local and regional markets, as well as for individual lawyers.
- Developing and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and pitches. This includes gathering input from attorneys and other information sources, drafting qualifications and value propositions, and coaching attorneys on strategy, follow-up, pitch meeting preparation, and related activities.
- Assisting in planning and implementing strategic sponsorships, conferences, and memberships with local organizations.
- Driving the coordination and planning of local events, which involves working with attorneys to plan content, developing targeted mailing lists to ensure key audience inclusion, creating materials, and assisting in the execution of follow-up plans to ensure the best possible return on investment (ROI). You will also ensure that facility logistics are adequately coordinated.
- Assisting in managing and collecting representative experience and business development actions using experience management databases and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Conducting research on industries, companies, clients, and prospects.
- Managing specialty initiatives and industry groups as needed.
**Education and Experience Information:**
The ideal candidate for the position of Marketing & Business Development Manager should have:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar position within a law firm environment.
- A solid understanding of the legal industry, including market opportunities, competition, service offerings, and competitive advantages, particularly in the New York and adjoining markets.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complicated subject matter clearly and persuasively. Strong presentation skills and active listening abilities are crucial.
- Practical and focused thinking while maintaining creativity.
- A hands-on approach with a proven "make it happen" mindset, demonstrated resourcefulness, and self-directed behavior.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with Interaction, iManage, Qorus Breeze/Docs, and Foundation is a plus.
- The ability to travel as required.
**Salary Information:**
The salary range for the Marketing & Business Development Manager role is $147,000 to $166,000 annually, based on a 40-hour work week. The pay within this range will be determined by various factors, including relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. Additionally, this job is eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
