Job Title: Business & Practice Development Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
The Business & Practice Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting a dynamic team of business development and practice management professionals working with over 300 Litigation Practice Area attorneys. The position requires direct engagement with attorneys and collaboration with colleagues across the Marketing & Business Development Department and other administrative functions within the law firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the MBD/Practice Management Team, including director and manager-level team members.
- Preparing initial drafts of pitches and RFP responses, collaborating with lawyers and other team members as needed based on pitch requirements, which involves formatting, editing, and submitting by a deadline, and includes post-pitch follow-up.
- Preparing award nominations, surveys, and submissions for directory and ranking authorities such as Chambers, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers/Best Law Firms.
- Making recommendations for and coordinating sponsorships, memberships, and event attendance at client and industry events to increase the visibility and brand of the firm in assigned practice groups/teams.
- Coordinating with attorneys and M&BD colleagues to update website content, bios, and other marketing materials for assigned practice groups/teams.
- Assisting with various other tasks in support of marketing and business development efforts for the litigation groups, including creating PowerPoints, CLE presentation materials, updating experience database content, and organizing Area and Group meetings.
Education and Experience:
The preferred qualifications for the position include:
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, marketing, management, communications, or another business-oriented field.
- Two to three years of previous experience in marketing, business development, and/or practice management in a law firm or professional services firm.

- Self-starter capable of working independently on assigned projects and collaborating with team members as needed to achieve goals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary.
- Experience with CRM, document management systems, and relational databases is a plus.
