Tax Accountant
Job Title: Tax Accountant
Job Responsibilities:
- Compile and prepare tax schedules for . federal, state, international, and local government tax returns, including income, business tax, sales/use tax, and property tax returns.
- Act as the primary liaison with the law firm’s outside tax advisors, providing necessary information to external accountants for the preparation of . federal, state, and international partnership tax returns.
- Collaborate with the Tax Supervisor and Tax Managers to ensure department objectives are met accurately and on time, aligning firm procedures with firm goals and global tax strategy.
- Manage cash operations, including monthly bank reconciliation, partner capital calls, partner distributions, and tracking investment funding/redemptions.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and analyses for distribution to partners.
- Work with partners and their personal tax accountants throughout the year to address tax questions related to K-1s and other items.
- Coordinate and assist with audits as they occur.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning all financial and systems-related information.
- Stay informed about trends, developments, and new technologies impacting the department, and conduct research on global tax issues using CCH, BNA, and Lexis.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting.
- Public Accounting experience is preferred, with CPA certification being advantageous.
- 2-5 years of related work experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities.
- Proficient computer software skills, particularly in Excel and Microsoft Access Database.
- Knowledge of Elite, report writers, and databases is preferred but not required.
- Experience with equity partners capital and investment partnerships (partnership accounting) is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a critical thinker capable of questioning existing processes and recommending improvements.
- Creative problem solver.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
Salary Information:

The anticipated pay range for this role is as follows, representing a good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. The role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
Boston: $70,500 - $107,550
Working Conditions:
This position requires a hybrid on-site presence as an essential function. Consistent and predictable on-site attendance is necessary for ongoing business continuity, professional development, and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
