Job Title: Director of Marketing and Engagement
Job Responsibilities:
The Director of Marketing and Engagement at the law firm is tasked with providing leadership and management to the Marketing team, working closely with the Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer (CBDMO). This role involves strategic direction and oversight of firmwide and practice-specific campaigns and marketing efforts aimed at driving client and prospect engagement. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the firm’s marketing technology, content, and campaign strategies, as well as events to support revenue growth objectives.
- Collaborating with the Marketing and Business Development (MBD) Department leadership and MBD practice liaisons to create and implement measurable plans and campaigns that enhance brand awareness, client engagement, and revenue growth.
- Overseeing brand management and development, including the implementation and execution of effective marketing and promotional strategies aligned with established priorities and plans in areas like creative and content marketing, marketing and digital technology, and external marketing communications.
- Managing a high-performing team and overseeing key marketing programs and operations to ensure alignment with the firm’s business development goals.
- Maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
Essential duties also include strategic leadership, marketing technology and data strategy, content, campaign and brand management, event strategy and campaign management, innovation and strategic growth, and team leadership and development.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Additionally, a candidate must have ten or more years of marketing management experience with a strong background in brand development and management, marketing communications, and digital technology. Advanced knowledge of marketing technology platforms such as CRM, CMS, BI tools, and marketing automation software is essential.
The role demands strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills, along with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects, handle complex relationships, and develop employees. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy.
Candidates must be quality and results-oriented, proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills. The ability to identify and analyze complex marketing issues and recommend and implement solutions is critical. The role also requires an understanding of business implications of decisions, market and competition knowledge, and alignment of work with strategic goals.
Salary Information:
In the Chicago office, the annualized salary range for the Director of Marketing and Engagement position is $180,000 to $290,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
