Conflicts Analyst (Remote)
Job Responsibilities:
The Conflicts Analyst is tasked with managing conflicts of interest searches and aiding in the establishment of new clients/matters. Key responsibilities include maintaining the conflicts database and contributing to special projects. Essential duties involve:
- Reviewing New Business Intake (NBI) requests to ensure data accuracy and completeness, utilizing internal and external resources to understand an entity's role in a matter, and engaging with lawyers and secretaries for further information or clarification as needed.
- Processing conflict of interest searches for all NBI requests, ensuring thoroughness for each party involved.
- Assigning matter numbers to new matter requests while ensuring the accuracy of all matter data.
- Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of ethical walls as required.
- Evaluating relationships between companies and individuals and incorporating these into the conflicts database.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the firm's policies and department procedures regarding case captions, engagement letters, and outside counsel guidelines.
- Supporting all aspects of the NBI department operations, including administrative tasks to maintain the integrity of the firm's conflicts database.
- Responding to inquiries from secretaries and attorneys regarding intake and conflicts.
- Staying informed about best industry practices and developments in conflicts of interest and risk management.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant information management field or have a minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting legal research. Additional qualifications include:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze information.
- Advanced internet skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a law firm, professional services, or consulting firm specifically in processing new business and/or conflicts of interest is highly desired.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to converse about conflicts of interest issues and department procedures with personnel at all levels.
- Professional work ethic, initiative, and customer service orientation.
- Familiarity with industry-leading Intake and Conflicts systems is preferred.
- Experience with CMS/Aderant and Intapp Open is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and provide off-hours support (evenings, weekends, and holidays) for special projects and escalated issues as needed.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000.
