Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for managing various aspects of the legal process, particularly in the context of employment and labor law. Key responsibilities include:

- E-discovery management, including document redaction, duplication, and indexing.
- Preparing chronologies of facts and production charts under attorney supervision.
- Organizing pleadings, exhibits, and appendices for filings.
- Assisting attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing documents for attorney review for witness interviews and depositions.
- Analyzing, reviewing, and organizing documents and data produced during discovery, and preparing and coordinating document production and responses to discovery requests.
- Preparing deposition and record subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations, coordinating production of third-party records, and summarizing them.
- Preparing deposition outlines and summaries, and analyzing and reviewing privileged documents.
- Preparing and managing trial exhibits and providing trial-related assistance.
- Drafting initial versions of various pleadings and discovery documents for matters before Federal Administrative Law Judges (MSHA and OSHA).
- Presenting case summaries and suggested courses of action to supervising attorneys.
- Conducting legal research, including using Lexis and Pacer.
- Performing cite-checking, Shepardizing, and assisting with motion preparation.
- Liaising with courts and litigation vendors, including process servers and couriers.
- Preparing responses to audit requests.
- Keeping abreast of developments, procedures, and rules in the forums where the office practices.
- Demonstrating basic strategic thinking and initiative with case assignments.
- Maintaining calendars, providing attorney billing/invoice processing support, completing reports, entering time records, and creating new files and updating client matter reports.
- Assisting with witness interviews and preparation of interview summaries.

Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of four years of legal experience is preferred, with experience in employment law considered a plus.
- An Associate degree is required, while a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- An ABA Paralegal Certificate is highly required.
- Proficiency in Windows environment, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, is necessary.
- Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedures is required.
- Experience with trial preparation, class actions, and wage and hour productions is advantageous.
- Experience with attorney billing systems is considered a plus.

Salary Information:
For California, the expected salary range for the Litigation Paralegal position is between and per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
