Job Title: Assistant Managing Clerk

Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Managing Clerk is responsible for supporting the Managing Clerk and litigation attorneys by processing filings, maintaining the litigation calendar, and ensuring compliance with court rules. Key duties include:
- Electronic filing of documents in all state and federal courts.
- Reviewing documents for rule compliance, both electronically and by hand.
- Researching and responding to procedural questions regarding court filings and service.
- Maintaining the firm’s general litigation calendar.
- Docketing and calendaring case information using Compulaw or similar software.
- Communicating with court and agency personnel to ascertain information regarding motions and hearings.
- Processing nationwide service of process requests and document retrievals.
- Advising litigation attorneys and personnel regarding pleadings and court rules.
- Obtaining exemplars and templates of court documents as needed.
- Monitoring and disseminating docket sheets from various courts.
- Conducting docket research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases.
- Performing various projects and tasks as required.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred; equivalent experience or education is acceptable.
- A paralegal certificate is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience in a Managing Clerk or Litigation Docketing Department.
- Experience with rules-based calendaring software is required; Compulaw experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in docketing case deadlines in California state and federal matters is required.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe PDF Creator (or equivalent) is necessary.
- Knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, CPLR, Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure is required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work overtime when required.

Salary Information:
The base annual salary range for the Assistant Managing Clerk role is between $90,000 and $125,000. The final offer will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location, while also considering internal equity. A full range of benefits, including medical and financial, will be offered based on the position.
