Job Title: IP Trademark Docketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

The IP Trademark Docketing Specialist is responsible for supporting attorneys and clients in managing trademark prosecution activities. Key responsibilities include:

- Following firm procedures and risk management guidelines to perform complex duties.
- Analyzing, reviewing, and processing all trademark correspondence, both domestic and foreign, including those from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Docketing USPTO and foreign trademark mail in the docketing system.
- Modifying, adding, and maintaining docket records.
- De-docketing pertinent deadlines and opening new matters.
- Creating, modifying, and generating docket and status reports.
- Processing incoming file transfers and generating daily docket of deadlines to ensure compliance.
- Responding to various requests from legal staff and other departments.
- Ensuring accurate entry and date calculation for case information and completion of daily PTO submissions.
- Communicating with attorneys and staff regarding pending action items, including follow-up.
- Engaging in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:

- 2-4 years of trademark docketing experience, preferably with CPI.
- Working knowledge of trademark docketing procedures, including USPTO and foreign practices.
- Advanced knowledge of trademark docketing processes, typically acquired through training, education, and significant work experience in the IP field.
- Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Additional qualifications include the ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and circumstances, work well in a team-oriented environment, maintain professional conduct, and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
