Job Title: CRASH Videographer
Job Responsibilities:
As a Videographer at the law firm, the primary responsibility is to create high-quality audiovisual content to support legal and marketing objectives. This involves developing innovative video solutions and managing the end-to-end video production process to ensure the creation of compelling multimedia assets. The Videographer will work closely with the Marketing and Communications department to execute on-site shoots, conduct interviews, and manage post-production tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Conceiving and developing creative solutions for addressing legal and marketing issues through audiovisual assets.
- Generating ideas for video projects for the Department of Marketing and Communications.
- Executing shoots on site/on location, including handling audio, camera operation, and talent directions. This also involves managing special lighting, multiple locations, creativity, special audio needs, custom graphics, and animation.
- Conducting interviews with clients, attorneys, employees, and others to ensure valuable sound bites are captured.
- Planning and performing video post-production tasks such as reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, adding photographs, motion pictures, motion graphics, animation, audio and music, and final editing using Adobe Premiere software.
- Utilizing computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compressing/encoding video projects for output; making video products available in various formats; observing brand standards and ensuring consistency and relevancy to production; monitoring technical quality of the end product; and coordinating internal and external duplication services as required.
- Producing educational, instructional, promotional (long and short form), or event-based videos as requested by pre-litigation, litigation, and marketing, including defining objectives, shooting in studio and remote locations, and converting existing video formats for video editing.
- Creating material used for shooting videos and conducting field interviews; editing material for OTT, social media, web applications, or scheduling guests as needed.
- Uploading videos to the web and media library.
- Overseeing the production of closed captions for Marketing and Communications video productions.
- Scheduling studio production time for Marketing and Communications projects.
- Scheduling off-site video shoots.
- Operating the camera for live video feed at events as needed.
- 50% local travel is required, and the candidate must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. (Company mile reimbursement provided)
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. Alternatively, any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to this requirement is acceptable. The role demands demonstrated experience in videotape production, as well as a thorough knowledge of audio, video, and multimedia hardware and software. Additionally, candidates must be available to work a non-standard schedule to fulfill assigned duties and responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, analytical and organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively and collegially with both legal and marketing staff are required. The ability to work independently on multiple assignments and to collaborate within a team is also necessary.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position in Chicago is $63,000 - $65,000 USD. Actual salaries may vary within this range based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to training, education, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
Physical Requirements:
- The role involves working in an office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- The candidate must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc., and may occasionally ascend/descend stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria, and parking area.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand is required. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) is required.
