Job Responsibilities:
The Lateral Partner Integration Manager plays a crucial role within the People Team at the law firm, focusing on the entire onboarding and integration lifecycle for lateral partners. The primary goal is to build and enhance a top-tier experience for these partners, ensuring a smooth transition and successful long-term integration into the firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing robust integration programs, processes, and practices to ensure effective integration of new partners into the firm.
- Creating onboarding plans for all lateral partner new hires, their teams, and clients to facilitate a seamless transition.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to prepare initial lateral integration and client development action plans prior to the partners' arrival.
- Coordinating and participating in integration team calls in preparation for partner arrivals, managing various internal stakeholders and groups.
- Leading and managing lateral integration plans for current partners during their first 12 months, closely monitoring data, identifying trends, and presenting themes to internal stakeholders.
- Serving as a key internal point of contact for new laterals and acting as a liaison between them and other business functions.
- Identifying and addressing integration issues or challenges in collaboration with Hiring Chairs and Managing Directors/Practice Group Leaders, proactively suggesting and implementing solutions.
- Working closely with Marketing & Business Development on integration items for laterals, such as press releases, client action plans, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Continuously refining lateral integration program materials to improve the integration process.
- Managing the diligence process for prospective lateral partners and ensuring the appropriate and timely distribution of relevant information.
- Providing support for other aspects of the partner recruiting process, including preparing written materials for lateral partner votes and regular leadership reports.
- Monitoring current trends and innovations in integration strategies and proactively suggesting and implementing process improvements.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Lateral Partner Integration Manager position should possess the following qualifications and capabilities:
- A minimum of five years of experience in partner or associate recruitment, integration, or talent management within a law firm or partnership structure is required.
- Expert project management skills, including being organized, efficient, responsive, and committed to delivering high-quality work products.
- The ability to understand complex requirements and critical issues, and to solve problems diplomatically.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence individuals at all levels.
- The capability to handle urgent and time-sensitive matters, work under tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong relationship-building skills; team-oriented, reliable, and committed to collaboration.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office applications, LinkedIn, and other talent management software.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Lateral Partner Integration Manager position is estimated to be between $130,000 and $150,000, based on experience level and location.
