Law Firm Seeks Senior Manager, Business Development & Marketing for Midwest Region

- This position will support attorneys in 4 offices in the Midwest Region, including Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan
Responsibilities:
Business Development and Strategy:
- Work with Director, Business Development & Marketing and office managing partners to develop strategic plans for the region
- Provide insights and market analysis for the development and implementation of regional business plans
- Support attorneys in targeted business development efforts, including lead generation, cross-selling, and coaching on related activities
- Act as a liaison for attorneys, connecting them to broader initiatives in practices, industries, and regions
- Contribute to writing projects, including customized content for pitches, marketing materials, and thought leadership pieces
- Understand and support the pitch process, including competitive intelligence and research
- Monitor and report pursuits via the firm’s CRM system
- Serve as a client account manager for key accounts
- Conduct regular client feedback sessions
- Maintain the firm’s experience database and marketing materials
Marketing, Profile Raising, and Communications:
- Prepare and lead presentations for internal and client-facing events
- Identify media and thought leadership opportunities to promote the firm’s brand and practice groups
- Analyze client and market intelligence to inform business development and branding initiatives
- Oversee the creation and updating of marketing collateral
- Produce and manage seminars, receptions, webinars, and other marketing events
- Evaluate sponsorships and directory opportunities
- Oversee drafting and submission of rankings and directories
Coaching and Training:
- Provide coaching to attorneys on developing new business and expanding existing relationships
- Guide attorneys on effectively communicating the firm’s unique value propositions
- Collaborate with BD & Marketing Department colleagues to deliver relevant training
- Maintain a library of best practices for organization-wide use
Team Leadership and Management:
- Manage and provide growth opportunities for one direct report
- Build relationships with attorneys and colleagues to develop and execute practice group plans
- Recommend and support traditional marketing activities to position the firm for desired clients
- Collaborate with marketing support teams to execute successful marketing programs
- Incorporate ROI mentality in all business development activities and expenditures
- Effectively collaborate with all teams within the Business Development and Marketing Department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and/or business development, with 5 years in professional services
- Law firm experience preferred
