Job Title: Legal Personnel Manager – . (Flexible Schedule)
Job Responsibilities:
1. Serve as HR Business Partner to Assigned Practice Groups:
- Respond to general HR inquiries from attorneys in assigned practice groups.
- Advise Practice Group Leaders (PGLs) on HR compliance, performance management, outplacement recommendations, leaves of absence, accommodations, and work arrangements.
- Review exit interview surveys, escalate employment issues, and manage aspects of the employment life cycle under firm policies.
- Analyze Practice Group metrics for HR issues and offer compliance and best practice recommendations.
2. Serve as HR Business Partner to the Legal Operations Department:
- Provide HR guidance and coaching on employee relations, performance management, staffing, and professional development.
- Act as liaison with department leadership, Staff Recruiting, and US Compensation Team for job requisitions, starting salaries, and internal equity.
- Advise on employment law compliance and firm policies, oversee onboarding, performance evaluations, and terminations.
- Address employee engagement and retention, consult on workplace concerns, and align HR strategies with departmental goals.
3. Assist with Performance Management/Evaluation Process:
- Help document performance management issues, identify outstanding performers, and guide the evaluation and associate advancement processes.
4. Assist with HR Aspects of Secondments:
- Prepare correspondence and engagement letters related to secondments and advise on the conclusion and return to firm work.
5. Manage Timekeeper Departures:
- Oversee administrative and operational issues related to timekeeper departures, coordinate exit processes, and manage requests to transition personal files.
6. Conduct Investigations:
- Conduct confidential investigations into HR complaints, provide research or data, and assist in preparing investigation reports.
7. Special Projects:
- Support the Assistant Director of Legal Personnel and complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Legal Personnel - US or others.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related discipline. Advanced degree and/or professional certifications in related fields are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional, substantive experience in Human Resources, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Knowledge of human resources best practices, . employment laws, and the legal business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.
- Strong organizational skills with a customer service orientation and attention to detail.
- Excellent comprehension and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and possess influencing and persuading skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle multiple priorities, and build effective relationships.
- Flexibility and adaptability to different situations and people.
Salary Information:
- Pittsburgh, Miami, Houston, Dallas: $124,000 - $137,000
- Chicago, Philadelphia: $133,000 - $147,000
- Washington, DC: $142,000 - $157,000
- New York: $147,000 - $162,000

Working Conditions:
