Job Title: Director & Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
- Advise and support the Colleague Experience Group (HR) and business partners on employment law issues, policies, communications, and procedures.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives and special projects that underpin the company's colleague experience strategy.
- Oversee and manage employment litigations and arbitrations, as well as employment-related government investigations and agency charges.
- Review and provide advice related to company communications, policies, and procedures from an employment law perspective.
- Draft employment-related documents, including releases and agreements.
- Form strong partnerships with colleagues across the General Counsel’s Organization, Colleague Experience Group, Global Risk and Compliance, Internal Audit, Privacy, and business units to mitigate legal, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Maintain and develop subject matter expertise on employment-related laws and regulations.
- Collaborate across the General Counsel’s Organization and the Colleague Experience Group to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree and . from an accredited law school.
- Qualified to practice law in New York and in good standing.
- 8+ years of relevant employment law experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality, with a commitment to ethical conduct.
- Must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience identifying and managing conduct risk-related issues, as well as creating, implementing, and interpreting conduct risk-related policies, processes, and/or programs.
- Experience representing GSIP banks and interpreting applicable conduct risk regulations, including OCC/FRB guidance on incentive compensation.
- Litigation and arbitration experience preferred.
- Experience supporting clients with employees in other markets, including Canada.
- Knowledge of the latest best practices and principles related to governance of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI in the employment space.
- Experience providing advice related to benefits and executive compensation.
- Ability to handle multiple workstreams simultaneously, take on new responsibilities, and prioritize work in a dynamic, deadline-intensive environment.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor to business teams.
- Ability to build relationships and partner with others to drive results.
- Ability to pivot appropriately when presented with new information or evolving circumstances.

Salary Information:
- Salary Range: $170, to $255, annually, plus bonus, equity (if applicable), and benefits.
- The expected salary range is subject to consideration of location, experience, and other job-related factors.
