Job Title: Business Development Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

The Business Development Coordinator (BD Coordinator) at the law firm will be an integral member of the Business team, supporting firmwide efforts, primarily focusing on supporting the Transactions Practices and their Business Plans. The key responsibilities include:

- Implementing practice and industry team business plans in collaboration with group leadership and the Marketing and Business Development Team to execute strategic initiatives.
- Providing quarterly budget and business plan updates to group leadership.
- Supporting reporting on marketing and business development initiatives and client opportunities during practice and industry group meetings.
- Monitoring practice and industry trends, evaluating the ROI on initiatives, and providing suggestions and adjustments to go-to-market strategies.
- Serving as a secondary point of contact for the Transactions Practices, working with the Senior Business Development Manager to respond to internal marketing and business development requests, including coordinating pitches, RFP responses, and presentations under the direction of attorneys and business development colleagues.
- Maintaining assigned practice and industry team marketing collateral, experience summaries, and website content with guidance from the Business Development Manager and the assistance of the firm’s Proposal Team.
- Collaborating with attorneys, the Events Team, and the BD Operations Team to assist in developing client seminars, webinars, and programs, driving follow-up efforts to achieve positive results and calculate ROI.
- Coordinating the annual Chambers & Partners submission process, including developing best practices for submissions, completing submissions for assigned practices, and making strategic recommendations as to rankings to pursue.
- Arranging research projects with the Information & Research Services Department on clients/prospects and industries for client meetings, RFP responses, and targeting new business opportunities.
- Coordinating the Marketing and Business Development portion of the new attorney orientation process for assigned practices, including meeting with new attorneys to discuss the business development and marketing department, services offered, and department organization.
- Tracking relevant industry organizations to uncover business development opportunities, including developing speaking and authorship opportunities with professional and trade organizations.
- Coordinating with the Senior Business Development Manager, Director of Business Development, and Chief Growth Officer in managing special projects.
- Providing general support to the Business Development Team as needed.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of marketing experience is necessary.
- Experience in the legal industry or professional service industry is highly preferred.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while consistently delivering high-quality results are essential.
- Work product must focus on strong attention to detail.
- The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills are required.
- A professional client service manner, responsiveness, flexibility, and adaptability are necessary.
- A demonstrated “Client first” mentality is important.
- Superior Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
- The ability to take initiative to solve problems with creative solutions is important.

Salary Information:

For Illinois applicants, the annual compensation range for this position in the Chicago office is between $53,000 and $65,000. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience. This position is considered full-time and is eligible for employer-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees can participate in the firm's 401k plan.

For Colorado applicants, the annual compensation range for this position in the Denver office is between $53,000 and $65,000. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience. This position is considered full-time and is eligible for employer-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees can participate in the firm's 401k plan.
