Job Title: Business Development Manager - Securities Enforcement and Litigation Practice
Job Responsibilities:
- The Business Development Manager is tasked with assisting in the planning, coordination, and advancement of client-centric business development strategies specifically for the Securities Enforcement and Litigation Practice.
- Collaborates with staff and lawyers across various practices and departments to develop and execute business development activities aligned with the firm's strategies.
- Identifies specific clients to target for increased revenue and cross-collaboration opportunities to expand work across new practice areas and geographies.
- Works with lawyers and the business development team to prepare compelling pitches and proposals, tracking activity and progress.
- Develops strategic goals for the practice in collaboration with practice leaders and senior team members, leading practice-generation focused programs and special projects.
- Prepares and manages implementation plans, reviewing progress regularly to ensure strategies align with firm priorities, and makes necessary adjustments and modifications.
- Partners with the marketing team to create and execute marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, content creation, and social media engagement, and plans firm-sponsored events to showcase legal expertise.
- Supports efforts in industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to build relationships.
- Reviews market and legal trends, analyzing and applying this information to develop strategies for go-to-market practice teams.
- Manages and analyzes internal data (clients, capabilities, services, profitability) within assigned groups.
- Prepares reports for firm management on key metrics, strategic priorities, and industry trends and developments, and prepares for annual partner meeting sessions with practice leaders.
- Works with other managers to ensure consistency and collaboration across all practice and industry team efforts, aligning with firm priorities and collaborating cross-functionally with various departments.
Education and Experience Information:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of directly related business and practice development experience, including proven strategic planning and execution expertise at a manager level.
- Experience in a law firm or other legal, consulting, or professional services firm is preferred.
- Must have law firm business development experience or substantive practice knowledge/experience in securities enforcement litigation or the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
- In lieu of deep law firm business development experience, candidates must possess knowledge of securities enforcement and litigation and the investment management/financial services industry.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment with global teams and multiple business units is necessary.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategic business development plans and present them to senior management.
- Requires strong interpersonal skills, financial acumen, analytical, and project management skills.
- Must have a strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
- Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across departments and offices.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position varies by location:
- Century City, CA: $119, - $190,
- Chicago, IL: $109, - $174,
- New York, NY: $124, - $198,
- San Francisco, CA: $124, - $198,
- Washington, DC: $114, - $182,
- The base salary or hourly wage range will be determined during the interview process and can vary based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
- The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
- The total compensation package may include medical, financial, and other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits like vacation, sick time, and parental leave.
