Job Title: Litigation Assistant

Job Responsibilities:
A Litigation Assistant at the law firm is responsible for providing comprehensive support to attorneys before, during, and after trials. The key responsibilities include:
- Preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda.
- E-filing all court documents in both state and federal courts.
- Communicating with clients, courts, counsel, and other relevant parties.
- Conducting legal research and factual investigations to support case development.
- Preparing discovery documents, including interrogatories and responses.
- Drafting and serving summons.
- Coordinating and summarizing depositions for attorney review.
- Preparing trial binders and exhibits for court proceedings.
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and ensuring proper filing with the court.
- Performing administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistical aspects.
- Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes for easy reference.
- Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Assisting attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
- Gathering relevant information from a variety of sources.
- Acting as a liaison between trial teams and internal/external third parties.
- Preparing witnesses for trial.
- Assisting with case settlements.
- Performing other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Education and Experience Information:
- The position prefers candidates with an Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience is required.
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred.
- Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises Liability, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred.
- Candidates must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workloads with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, with proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures is necessary.
- Candidates must be highly organized and capable of juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive computer and database expertise is needed, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of no less than 35 words per minute.

Salary Information:
- The hourly range for this position is $30 USD.
