Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal is tasked with supporting attorneys in the law firm by assisting with ongoing cases and trial preparations as necessary. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing paralegal, clerical, and data entry duties to support the legal team.
- Maintaining attorneys' calendars to ensure efficient time management.
- Scheduling depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, mediations, and hearings to facilitate case proceedings.
- Managing documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe for efficient case management.
- E-filing legal documents in Pennsylvania’s E-Portal System, with proficiency in the filing requirements and procedures for Philadelphia and surrounding counties.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences to ensure readiness.
- Drafting legal court documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas.
- Sending out correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail to maintain communication.
- Communicating effectively with clients to provide updates and gather information.
- Setting up Court Calls or Zoom for hearings to facilitate remote participation.
- Performing other related duties as assigned to support the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
- The position requires full-time commitment, with working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of litigation experience.
- Experience with e-filing in both state and federal courts is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
- The ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Effective communication skills with clients and co-workers are required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload are necessary.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- A teamwork-oriented attitude is important for collaboration within the firm.
