Job Title: Senior Trademark Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Trademark Paralegal at the law firm will have a variety of crucial responsibilities focused on trademark portfolio management, copyright portfolio management, and intellectual property due diligence. The key duties include:
- Preparing applications for trademark and service mark registration, as well as ancillary prosecution and maintenance filings.
- Preparing filings for the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and updating trademark record titles.
- Assisting with trademark and copyright due diligence processes.
- Conducting online preliminary trademark clearance searches and preparing search guides.
- Preparing applications for copyright registrations.
- Drafting correspondence to clients and local counsel regarding trademark prosecution and maintenance issues.
- Keeping attorneys informed about upcoming deadlines and coordinating with them to update clients accordingly.
- Performing other assigned tasks and responsibilities as required.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Trademark Paralegal position should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in trademark prosecution and maintenance within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- A paralegal certificate is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of legal research and investigation skills.
- Proven ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Capability to prioritize workload, assignments, and client needs effectively.
- Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands while functioning as an integral part of a fast-paced team environment.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Senior Trademark Paralegal position varies based on location and other factors. The salary ranges are as follows:
- For positions in New York, NY, Silicon Valley, CA, and San Francisco, CA, the salary range is $91,500 - $146,325.
- For positions in Orange County, CA, and Seattle, WA, the salary range is $87,800 - $140,450.
- For positions in Chicago, IL, the salary range is $80,500 - $128,800.
- For positions in Washington ., the salary range is $84,200 - $134,600.
The base salary wage range will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors including prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary offered may be outside of this range based on individual circumstances. Additionally, salary wages may only be part of the total compensation package, which includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and various benefits such as a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance plans, health savings and flexible spending accounts, Employee Assistance Program, Work/Life Services, HealthAdvocate, Bright Horizons Back-Up Child Care, and WageWorks Commuter Benefits. Employees will also receive 9 paid holidays per year, 2 personal days, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. Eligible employees will earn 1 paid sick leave hour for every 30 hours worked and may take up to five days off for bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year, and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy.
