Job Title: Client Intelligence Manager (Hybrid)
Job Responsibilities:
The Client Intelligence Manager is responsible for the development, deployment, process support, technical support, ongoing enhancement roadmap, and continual service delivery of the law firm's lawyer-facing intelligence tools and platforms. This includes supporting end-to-end dashboard and reporting services firmwide to enable lawyers and business professionals to make data-driven decisions and optimize operations. The role involves leading adoption and enablement campaigns, collaborating with various internal functions such as Change & Transformation, Training, Professional Development, and IT Support, and working closely with data strategy, data governance, marketing technology, financial reporting, HR reporting, practice development, KM, IT applications, and other related teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of the firm’s intelligence and analytics tools using advanced data visualization and automation capabilities.
- Sourcing, evaluating, selecting, and utilizing future enhancements to these tools as technologies evolve.
- Planning, executing, and maintaining complex analyses supporting strategic firm initiatives, delivered as dashboards and AI-enabled solutions.
- Leading an analytics team that develops highly visual firm dashboards automating reporting for business development information and operational needs.
- Collaborating with the Data Solutions Engineering team to design and deliver data pipelines across disparate data sources.
- Evaluating new data resources, technologies, and processes for teams throughout the firm.
- Developing and articulating use-cases with lawyers and operational professionals, assessing opportunities against the firm’s innovation strategies, and making recommendations with department leadership.
- Building cross-functional relationships with software engineers, solutions engineers, and other business stakeholders.
- Providing technical leadership and strategic direction to align intelligence initiatives with business objectives.
- Partnering with IT staff, vendors, and other third parties to address technical issues, manage integrations, and implement upgrades.
- Establishing best practices for analytics and data dashboard and application design and development.
- Collaborating with governance and data stakeholders to establish standard metrics reporting and analyze data trends.
- Partnering closely with the firm’s PMO and Change Management teams to ensure platform adoption and ongoing enhancements.
- Developing standard configuration documentation and related guides for data consumers.
- Designing end-user training, onboarding, and user adoption programs.
- Undertaking special projects and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications and education include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or professional services environment, particularly within an intelligence function. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience managing and leading intelligence teams and excellent proficiency in business intelligence, application development, and data visualization. A strong knowledge of the legal technology landscape, including trends, tools, and industry standards, is necessary. Experience with legal technology, workflow systems, legal project management, and practice management tools, as well as a deep understanding of law firm structure and business practices, is required. Familiarity with a broad array of legal practices, including transactional, litigation, and regulatory, is essential. Experience with Microsoft OneLake, Fabric, Power, Copilot, and related concepts and applications is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and Power platform for data-related concepts and cybersecurity best practices compliance is necessary. The role requires the ability to develop collaborative relationships among business teams, lawyers, administrative departments, and vendors, along with change management, process improvement, and user adoption skills. Initiative and creativity in developing innovative approaches to existing challenges are important. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple complex assignments with competing deadlines.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or related coursework or certifications.
Salary Information:
This position may be filled in Illinois, District of Columbia, or New York. The base salary ranges for this position are as follows:
- Illinois: $128,000 - $191,400 per year
- District of Columbia: $139,000 - $208,800 per year
- New York City: $139,000 - $208,800 per year
