Job Title: Case Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Case Manager will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with the development of settlements and the preparation of essential documents and correspondence. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in daily interactions with existing and potential clients both over the phone and in person to provide support and gather necessary information.
- Ordering medical records from providers and maintaining communication with clients and providers throughout the treatment process.
- Obtaining documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions.
- Interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
- Negotiating case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiating deductions of outstanding medical balances with providers.
- Collaborating with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files to ensure cohesive case management.
- Maintaining organized case files to facilitate efficient case management.
- Preparing comprehensive demands and assembling support documents for submission to insurance carriers.
- Interacting with attorneys to present case synopses when required.
- Managing case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
- Performing other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred for this position.
- Prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager is preferred.
- At least two years of experience working in a legal position or as an insurance adjuster is preferred.
- Candidates should possess strong negotiating skills.
- The ability to be a collaborative team player and follow procedures is essential.
- Proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers is required.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
- The candidate should be highly organized, capable of juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail are necessary.
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 words per minute, is required.
