Responsibilities: Provides assistance and support to the legal staff by compiling and coordinating the daily flow of documents and information for use in processing legal matters for the Employment Law and Consumer Protection departments. Prepares, investigates, and conducts research for new and ongoing legal matters. Responsible for filing with Federal and State Courts. Ability to search Federal and State Court dockets. Organizes, coordinates, and tracks all legal files and documents, making them available and easily accessible to the firm s attorneys. Communicates with clients to intake evidence and prepare client files. Manages deadlines and the case/matter calendar. Coordinates court appearances, depositions, meetings, etc., between employees and outside counsel. Schedules arbitrations, mediations, court reporters, and court ordered appearances. Supports trial and hearing prep for attorneys. Prepares legal documents, drafts, pleadings and memoranda. Manages new files electronically. Uploads documents for trial prep. Participates in and supports privileged and confidential projects. Qualifications: Bachelor/Associate degree in Legal Studies or related field, Paralegal certification preferred but not required. Two years paralegal experience is accepted in lieu of degree. Must have GED/HS Diploma. 2+ years of Employment Law experience is preferred Ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of experience as a legal assistant or Paralegal in a law firm setting. Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information. Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals. Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.
