We are currently seeking an Associate attorney to join our team in our Los Angeles, CA office. This position will primarily focus on traditional labor law, representing employers in various legal matters. However, there will also be opportunities to work on advice and counsel assignments regarding federal and California workplace laws. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in litigation or advice work, with a preference for traditional labor experience and knowledge of federal and California laws.
At our Firm, we value our employees and strive to provide competitive compensation that reflects their skills, experience, and education. The expected salary range for this position is $216,500 - $233,500. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications and factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in traditional labor relations matters, including handling unfair labor practice charges, NLRB elections, and collective bargaining negotiations.
- Provide legal advice to employers on various workplace issues, such as wage and hour laws, leave management, and disability accommodations.
- Conduct research and draft legal documents and briefs.
- Review employee handbooks, policies, and compensation plans for compliance with state and federal laws.
- Conduct management training on labor relations, workplace laws, and harassment and discrimination prevention.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- 4-6 years of experience as an attorney in litigation or advice work.
- Admission to the California Bar.
- Understanding of current state and federal agency enforcement techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to travel for business purposes.
