H2: Responsibilities and Qualifications for the Position

- Join a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment as a Payroll/Benefits Specialist at The United Firm La Liga Defensora, APC. in Los Angeles
- Own and oversee payroll and benefits operations for 300+ employees and growing
- Process bi-weekly payroll in ADP for exempt and nonexempt employees in the .
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll, including base pay, payroll taxes, 401(k), and more
- Review and approve non-exempt employee timesheets and handle any missed punches or discrepancies
- Stay up-to-date on IRS regulations, state taxes, wage and hour laws, and local tax requirements to ensure compliance
- Scale payroll processes and drive process improvements and system optimization
- Monitor payroll trends and regulatory updates, and implement policies and processes to ensure compliance and best practices
- Handle benefits enrollment and changes, respond to employee inquiries, and assist with leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, and 3-5 years of payroll processing experience
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
- Prior experience with ADP and payroll implementation preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and multitask in a fast-paced and data-driven organization
