Role Summary:

- Key member of global Legal Department, responsible for advising on employment issues and managing risk exposure
- Provides expert legal advice on personnel matters, including hiring, terminations, leaves, workplace complaints, and discrimination
- Collaborates with HR department to ensure compliance with employment laws and firm policies
- Drafts and reviews legal documents and agreements
- Conducts legal research and stays up-to-date on employment laws and regulations
- Leads or assists with HR-related investigations
- Liaises with outside counsel on employment-related litigation
- Develops and implements legal strategies to minimize risk and ensure compliance
- Trains management and staff on employment law matters

Requirements:

- Must hold a law degree and be admitted to practice law in Freshfields' home office jurisdiction
- At least 4 years of experience practicing employment law
- Must have strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex risks in a commercial context
- Excellent communicator with ability to articulate advice confidently and succinctly
- Meticulous approach to maintaining accurate records and delivering high-quality work
- Must be willing to work out of hours and travel as needed for global firm

Compensation:

- For New York-based position, estimated salary range of $175,000 to $225,000
- Salary may vary based on factors such as experience, skill sets, and location
