Law Firm Seeks Employee Benefits Counsel/Partner

Law Firm is currently seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Counsel/Partner to join their team in multiple offices located in Minneapolis, MN; Pittsburgh, PA; Dallas, TX; and New York, NY. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, qualified retirement plans, nonqualified plans, executive compensation, and health and welfare benefits, as well as ESOP transaction experience.

Job Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate (JD)
Licensed to practice law in the state where the office resides
10+ years of experience working with ERISA, the IRC, qualified retirement plans, nonqualified plans and executive compensation
ESOP experience, particularly ESOP transaction experience preferred
Book of business a plus, but not required
Ability to build out a practice, with associate attorneys in the future
Large law firm experience preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position applies to New York. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to portable business, experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $300,000 to $340,000.

## Job Description

Law Firm is searching for a Counsel or Partner in their Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Department. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of relevant experience, working with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and other applicable employee benefits laws on matters involving qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, including nonqualified plans and equity compensation plans, and health and welfare benefits. In addition, ESOP transaction experience is preferred. Although not required, the candidate having a book of business is a plus.

In order to be successful in this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

* Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
* Must be licensed to practice law in the state where the office resides.
