Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda.
- E-file all court documents in both state and federal courts.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, counsel, and other parties involved in the legal process.
- Conduct thorough legal research and factual investigations to support case preparation.
- Prepare discovery documents, including interrogatories and responses.
- Draft and serve summons to relevant parties.
- Coordinate and summarize depositions in collaboration with the legal team.
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits with the assistance of a legal assistant.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents to be filed with the court.
- Maintain organized pleadings and discovery indexes for easy reference.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices for trial.
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
- Gather relevant information from various sources to support case development.
- Serve as a liaison between trial teams and both internal and external third parties.
- Assist with witness preparation for trial.
- Contribute to case settlements by providing necessary support and documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Education and Experience Information:
- An Associate’s Degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred.
- Experience in areas such as Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, Medical Malpractice, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting is required.
- The ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and handle a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and minimal supervision is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with attention to detail, are necessary for success in this role.
