Job Title: Learning and Development Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the learning and development function within the law firm. This includes the design, development, execution, assessment, and redevelopment of training programs for business professional staff. The specialist will collaborate with the Learning and Development Manager to address training needs through various delivery methods such as instructor-led sessions, webinars, technology-based training, and outsourced vendor solutions. Key responsibilities include:

- Performing a wide range of assignments requiring a full understanding of the Learning and Development discipline.
- Assisting in and leading the development and continuous improvement of training and development programs.
- Supporting the analysis and identification of skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities.
- Creating training materials, including job aids and reference materials, aligned with established program goals and objectives.
- Serving as a key user of the firm's learning management system (LMS), including adding and updating content and ensuring full utilization of system functionality.
- Supporting the execution of all training programs for professional staff and delivering training as needed.
- Assisting in developing and implementing testing and evaluation procedures to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with attorneys, managers, and subject matter experts to determine and deliver training priorities.
- Collaborating with the Manager, HR Managers, and other business leaders to identify skill gaps and related training solutions.
- Working closely with the Manager for the successful development and execution of all aspects of LD-related events, such as scheduling, agreements, logistics, participant registration, branding, marketing, communications, outreach efforts, and event evaluations.
- Managing all aspects of assigned L&D programs, including program design, enrollment management, vendor management (where applicable), strategic marketing, and stakeholder management.
- Identifying and recommending new learning tools and programs that support capability development aligned with firm business needs.
- Creating and maintaining a positive and professional learning environment.
- Staying current with industry trends and maintaining technical proficiency through research and education.
- Understanding how the Learning and Development area integrates with other areas across Human Resources and the law firm.
- Impacting a range of operational, project, or service activities within the team and related teams.
- Supporting the establishment and maintenance of learning paths for all levels of leaders and individual contributors.
- Supporting the maintenance and enhancement of existing learning portals and monthly communication and content distribution via SharePoint.
- Solving complex problems and exercising judgment based on analyzing multiple sources of information.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of learning and development experience.
- Experience in designing and developing online modules using a variety of authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Rise.
- Experience in creating leadership development programming is preferred.
- Certification to design and/or deliver team-building programs and other training/professional development is beneficial.
- Experience leading small teams to successfully achieve learning and development objectives.

Salary Information:
Compensation for the Learning and Development Specialist position is dependent on several factors, such as position, location, education, training, and experience. The hiring salary range is between $70, and $90,.
