Job Title: IP Docketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
As an IP Docketing Specialist at the law firm, you will be a key member of the Global Operations Team, supporting the Intellectual Property Technology Services (IPTS) legal practice area within the Technology/Life Science Business Unit. Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Functioning in all areas of IP Administration, including . and Foreign Filings, Patent Correspondence, and Annuities.
- Mentoring the IP Administration team and leading cross-training of different IP Docketing functions.
- Working on special projects as directed by the IP Docketing Manager and serving as a backup for the manager.
- Reviewing all incoming mail related to patent matters, analyzing deadlines, and entering them in the database.
- Assisting with the intake and outtake of patent and trademark portfolios, including data transfers and file coordination.
- Generating monthly, weekly, and special reports for attorneys and reviewing dockets for time-sensitive responses.
- Monitoring, maintaining, and updating databases regarding trademark and patent matters.
- Reviewing outgoing filings for accuracy and ensuring docketing databases function at acceptable performance levels.
- Preparing cost estimates for international patent and trademark filings using licensed software.
- Maintaining EPO Deposit Account and other accounts as directed by the IP Docketing Manager.
- Conducting docket checks of patent and trademark files as determined by IPTS Best Practices.
- Reviewing and recommending adjustments to docketing and filing processes for greater efficiency and improved client service.
- Providing supervision to IP Administrators, Coordinators, and Paralegals as requested.
- Determining and planning necessary training for IP Administrative staff.
- Participating in IPTS groups or task forces as directed.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in an IP Docketing or equivalent role, with comprehensive knowledge of IP Docketing (Docketing Foreign & . Mail, Foreign Filing Experience, Annuities, File Transfers, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally.
- Strong attention-to-detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Sound judgment with the ability to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
- Proficiency in standard office software (MS Excel, Word, Internet Search Engines, etc.) and docketing software (CPi).
- Proven ability to consistently provide exemplary client service, both internally and externally.

Salary Information:
The target salary range for the IP Docketing Specialist position varies by location and is commensurate with relevant experience:
- Boston: $87,600 - $131,400
- Los Angeles: $92,000 - $138,000
- New York: $92,000 - $138,000
- Philadelphia: $82,400 - $123,600
- San Francisco: $98,100 - $147,200
- Santa Monica: $92,000 - $138,000
- Silicon Valley: $98,100 - $147,200
- Washington DC: $87,600 - $131,400
