These analyses are primarily based on client timekeeping and payroll data. The role requires a strong understanding of Wage & Hour data and current knowledge of state and/or federal Wage & Hour laws. The selected candidate will work with a significant degree of independence and minimal supervision, handling complex attorney/client issues, overseeing the work of analysts and junior statisticians, and effectively communicating with both attorneys and high-level client contacts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying data issues, performing basic analysis, and developing solutions.

- Overseeing and reviewing the work of analysts and junior statisticians, including workload management and project delegation.
- Providing clear, concise communications to attorneys and client contacts, with the ability to explain complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Developing methods and strategies to reach the end goal of a project based on various types/formats of raw client data.
- Working with attorneys and analysts for analysis revisions, often on-the-fly during mediation proceedings.
- Determining client and project needs and independently designing and preparing data and analyses.
- Regularly working with attorneys and team managers to determine strategies for projects.
- Providing support on Practice Group initiatives, marketing efforts, and pitches.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates are required to have a minimum of two years of experience directly working with Wage & Hour topics and data, particularly timekeeping and payroll data, preferably within a legal or HR context. Direct experience with California Wage & Hour laws is a significant advantage. The candidate should possess expert working knowledge of Excel, including basic and intermediate formulas such as vlookups and sumifs, and the ability to use Excel formulas and mathematics to manipulate raw data into dollar-figure exposure estimates. VBA experience is a plus, as is experience with R, SQL, Python, or other statistical programs, with a preference for R. Proficiency in linear and logistic regression modeling for large-scale workforces is also desired. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, especially the ability to communicate effectively with client HR and legal professionals at Fortune 500 companies. The role requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities. Candidates should have a working knowledge of R, data wrangling methodologies, and coding standards around dplyr, tidyverse, and lubridate. An undergraduate degree in applied statistics, mathematics, econometrics, or a similar field, or commensurate experience or equivalent training, is required.
