Job Title: BD Communications Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:
The BD Communications Coordinator is tasked with supporting the Communications team and the broader Business Development Department at the law firm. The role involves implementing specific communications, public relations, marketing, and business development strategies. Key responsibilities include drafting and developing firm communications and awards submissions, conducting media research and analysis, and tracking, monitoring, and reporting on outreach and submission results. The coordinator is responsible for content administration and assists with events and presentations. They provide research and analysis about news publications, reporters, awards series, thought leadership, social media, and other communication opportunities. Additionally, the role supports the firm’s media engagement and branding initiatives, ensuring a high standard of excellence is maintained.

Essential job duties include:
- Assisting with the distribution of varied communications materials and firm communications, such as matter announcements, press releases, and client memos.
- Preparing and maintaining website content, including matter summaries, partner biographies, and other business development and communications materials across multiple channels such as LinkedIn.
- Researching and maintaining data for the communication team’s contact database and preparing background materials ahead of press meetings.
- Assisting in research, pitching, and tracking of attorney-authored content.
- Monitoring and tracking data concerning the firm’s press coverage, awards recognition, and social media mentions.
- Preparing and maintaining promotional materials, such as brochures, practice area descriptions, advertising, posters, flyers, etc., in collaboration with the graphic design team and outside vendors.
- Providing peer firm intelligence reports and analysis, conducting additional research through database searches, industry resources, and networking as directed.
- Assisting with firm-sponsored events and presentations as needed.
- Collaborating with stakeholders in other departments and offices.
- Supporting business development projects and other firm initiatives.
- Performing additional duties as needed.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, with a major in English, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred. A minimum of 2 years of business experience is required. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment. Strong attention to detail and self-motivation to produce accurate, timely, and complete work products are essential. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong research and analytical skills, and strong time management skills. High initiative and proven ability to progress multiple projects concurrently are necessary. The candidate should be able to begin leveraging institutional knowledge in their work and should demonstrate introductory knowledge of communications/business development skill sets. Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. Flexibility and a willingness to work overtime as needed, along with a positive can-do attitude, professional demeanor, and team-player behavior, are essential.

Preferred skills and experience include 2 years of previous experience in a law firm, marketing, or public relations field. Familiarity with Content Pilot’s suite of products or other experience databases is preferred, as is experience updating and maintaining a website. Demonstrated experience using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system is also preferred.

Salary Information:
For candidates based in New York, the estimated base salary range for the BD Communications Coordinator position is $65,000 to $80,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt, meaning it is eligible for overtime pay.
