Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is actively seeking an experienced Employment Attorney with a strong background in employee benefits law and ERISA. This role focuses on advising clients across a broad range of benefits-related legal issues including plan compliance, executive compensation, healthcare reform, and fiduciary risk management. The position is suited for an attorney who is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex matters independently or as part of a collaborative legal team.

Duties:
Advise clients on the design, administration, and compliance of qualified retirement plans
Provide legal counsel on executive compensation matters and Section 409A compliance
Address legal issues related to health and welfare plans and the Affordable Care Act
Draft and review benefit plan documents and related materials
Guide clients on fringe benefits and fiduciary responsibilities under ERISA
Handle ERISA-related claims and dispute resolution matters
Represent clients during governmental audits and investigations by the IRS, DOL, or other agencies
Provide support on employee benefits matters in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing in employee benefits and ERISA law
Proven ability to navigate complex federal statutes and regulations impacting benefits plans
Experience managing client relationships and working on multidisciplinary legal teams
Strong organizational and time management skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in at least one . state bar
Admission to the bar in the relevant office jurisdiction preferred or willingness to become admitted
Skills:
Deep understanding of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
Ability to interpret and communicate complex regulatory information clearly
High level of professional judgment and ethical standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
