JOB TITLE: Marketing & Business Development Manager – Industries

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Marketing & Business Development Manager – Industries plays a critical role in executing the law firm's strategic plan by driving the go-to-market strategy for select priority industries. This position involves acting as a strategic advisor and business partner to industry teams, facilitating the development and execution of industry-specific plans that align with the firm's growth objectives. Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting strategic planning with industry leaders to identify priorities, emerging issues, and differentiation themes.
- Developing and executing tailored marketing and business development plans to enhance the firm's market presence.
- Reviewing and adjusting industry marketing plans based on market dynamics and firm priorities.
- Establishing KPIs to measure marketing initiatives' effectiveness and providing insights for improvement.
- Reporting on progress and engagement metrics to industry and department leadership.
- Supporting industry teams with identifying and pursuing strategic growth opportunities.
- Coordinating meetings with industry leaders to share information and drive client development activities.
- Developing industry fact sheets and client-ready collateral to illustrate the firm's value proposition.
- Collaborating with industry leadership to design client-focused programs and contribute to pitch materials and presentations.
- Promoting cross-selling and interdisciplinary collaboration by identifying synergies between practice capabilities and client industry issues.
- Liaising with the Client Development team to advance industry-specific key client initiatives and action planning.
- Leading integrated marketing campaigns to promote industry experience and client solutions.
- Driving the creation and distribution of industry-specific content and ensuring consistent messaging across materials.
- Collaborating on annual business plans, managing budgets, and identifying industry-related events and sponsorships.
- Maintaining relationships with industry associations and event organizers to raise the firm's profile.
- Monitoring market conditions and competitor positioning to provide actionable insights for lawyers and client development colleagues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE INFORMATION:

- Strong relationship-development, project management, communication, and proactive client service skills are essential.
- 8+ years of experience at a law firm (Am Law 100 preferred), top-tier consultancy, or comparable professional services firm desired.
- Experience in lawyer/practice/industry support, including coaching, team mentoring, events, pitch and content development, and budget management.
- Experience working across multiple industry verticals desired.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity to provide solutions.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to diverse work styles.
- Outgoing, comfortable demonstrating initiative, and able to think critically and creatively.
- High sense of responsibility, accountability, and focus on responsiveness.
- College degree required. MBA or advanced degree a plus. English or other writing-intensive background helpful.
- Occasional travel required.

SALARY INFORMATION:

- Salary Range: $135,000-$200,000
- Final starting salary is dependent on the candidate’s experience level, industry expertise, skills, and other factors defined in the job description.
