About the Role - We are seeking highly motivated medical records specialists to join our nursing home litigation group.

Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities
- Reviews, selects, categorizes, organizes, and maintains documents including but not limited to briefs, pleadings, appeals, and contracts.
- Works collaboratively with assigned attorneys and support staff in preparing legal documentation and/or processing transactions.
- Gathers factual information to respond to litigation discovery requests or other information inquiries.
- Identifies sources of potentially relevant documents needed for projects or discovery.
- Arranges for numbering and copying of documents.
- Prepares summaries of depositions and other litigation discovery.
- Performs legal research and analysis, both manually and on computers; compiles, analyzes, and summarizes data.
- Manages cases and files; organizes and maintains files.
- Performs factual and technical investigation and analysis of case issues.
- Assists in all phases of case preparation including discovery and trial.
- Monitors legal fees, budgets, and project status.
- Provides general logistical help and supports the maintenance of legal files.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience Information
- Two to three years related experience or equivalent.
- Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal training program or equivalent preferred; Bachelors’ degree (.) in related field or equivalent preferred.
- Strong research skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent grammatical and spelling skills.
- Proficiency in using Smart Advocate preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
