Job Title: Manager - Marketing Intellectual Property & Technology
Job Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Manager will work closely with practice group leaders, firm attorneys, and other marketing team members to support all business development and marketing activities for the Intellectual Property and Technology practice on a national basis. The primary goal is to drive revenue through new business opportunities and client expansion programs. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentoring to attorneys and staff through effective communication ensuring a well-informed and highly motivated team effort.
- Researching strategic market opportunities and successfully leading the cross-selling of existing services, practice groups, and offices as well as overseeing the initiation of substantial, new client opportunities for the firm.
- Working with the marketing events team to execute and drive ROI for marketing events.
- Managing business sponsorships and activities tied to the practice.
- Tracking activities relevant to business development of the practice group.
- Responding to all RFPs/RFIs and developing all other proposal/pitch materials in conjunction with Pursuits & Proposals team members and Senior Practice Marketing Team.
- Providing sales support and otherwise assisting attorneys in any way needed with target opportunities.
- Conducting business and market research; conducting relationship searches and maintaining attorney biographies.
- Coordinating business development training sessions at the national level.
- Advising attorneys on business development tactics and tools (., CRM system).
- Serving as a point of contact for internal and external communications, including media relations.
- Updating sales pipeline information.
- Supporting deal/case tracking efforts as necessary.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 6 years of marketing/business development support experience, preferably in the professional services industry.
Desired Skills:
The ideal candidate will be a customer service-focused, personable, detail-oriented, and high-energy professional with management-level experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Strong client service orientation, project management, and the ability to generate immediate credibility with firm attorneys are essential. Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint and the ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required.
Salary Information:
The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $116,199 - $175,962 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive package of benefits is offered including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
