Job Title: Marketing and Communications Writer

Job Responsibilities:

- The Marketing and Communications Writer will take a leading role in writing and editing firm-owned, client-facing content. This involves creating compelling and persuasive content tailored to various audiences, utilizing different tones of voice and key messages.
- Ensures and maintains consistent use of the firm's voice and style to promote the brand, maximizing clarity and consistency while minimizing errors in grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation.
- Works closely with the firm's practice chairs and marketing managers to develop and edit practice group marketing and business development materials. This includes writing copy for pitches, proposals, and the firm website.
- Collaborates with the Public Relations and Department Marketing teams to edit award submissions, as well as directory and award submissions written by other team members.
- Drafts bios for incoming lateral attorneys, ensuring consistency and adherence to style guidelines.
- Edits client alerts, blogs, practice newsletters, and annual or quarterly reports and white papers drafted by attorneys. Ensures a consistent approval process is maintained for these materials.
- Drafts content for monthly internal leadership newsletters and assists with other newsletters.
- Develops and implements editorial standards to maintain and improve the quality of firm content, working with key stakeholders to implement processes.
- Assists in other writing and editing projects as needed.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor's degree in public relations, English, marketing, journalism, or communications is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing or journalism with an emphasis on professional services is required.
- Excellent writing and editing skills are essential, including a proven record of adhering to AP style and corporate style guides.
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit complex topics for different audiences is required.
- The role requires creativity, discretion, and the ability to communicate creatively, clearly, and effectively, both orally and in writing, with attorneys and administrative professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
- Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding complex matters and to build effective relationships.

Salary Information:

- The budgeted salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000.
