Job Title: Business Development Events Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

- Assist with the collection and management of law firm deals and experience to support business development efforts.
- Assist with CRM management and business development activity reporting.
- Update and utilize CRM to create lists, reports, and analyze attorney client and prospect connections.
- Provide ideas, guidance, and support to attorneys for the development of materials and PowerPoint presentations.
- Collaborate with Marketing regarding materials being used for proposals, events, and other business development activities.
- Responsible for the oversight, quality control, planning, invitations, and execution of the law firm’s business development events and activities, including in-person seminars, networking events offsite, webinars, and dinners.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external event partners and co-presenting organizations, conference organizers, external venues, caterers, and other vendors.
- Analyze business development activities to provide periodic reports.
- Proactively collect feedback after events and encourage follow-up activities.
- Ensure compliance with budgets for business development activities including events, dinners, and conferences.
- Provide back-up as needed to fellow members of the Business Development and Marketing team.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:

- required.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in supporting events, marketing, or business development in professional services, ideally in a law firm setting.

Additional Skills/Experience:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, the firm’s email marketing system, and CRM database.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofing for content and context.
- A high degree of organization, flexibility, and reliability to set priorities, manage multiple responsibilities, and work well under pressure.
- Ability to assume responsibility for assigned tasks and, if necessary, delegate workload in order to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional presence, including good verbal skills, tact, and diplomacy, as well as the ability to interact positively with all types of people at all levels of business.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members as well as attorneys and staff throughout the law firm.
- Adaptable to last-minute changes and disruptions, and able to accommodate overtime work.

Essential Functions:

- Work primarily in the Boston office with the flexibility of working remotely two days a week.
- Be able to work earlier, later, or offsite to work at law firm events.
- Accept and perform well when given more independent tasks.
- Retain, implement, and continually learn the necessary skills to perform job duties.
- Keep informed of the trends and changes in the marketing of legal services.
- Work in an organized manner to ensure timely and efficient work performance as well as continuity of services.
- Remain composed and interact positively and professionally in all situations.
- Communicate effectively in person, in writing, and electronically.
- Meet physical demands of the position as required.
