Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (Skadden) is seeking a Business Development and Marketing Manager to join our team and drive business growth for our litigation select transactional practices in the Midwest and Texas markets. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a prestigious and innovative law firm, known for handling complex legal issues and building strong partnerships with clients and colleagues. As a Business Development and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to fortify and nurture existing client relationships while strategically acquiring new partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement proactive marketing and business development initiatives for litigation select transactional practices in the Midwest and Texas markets.
- Draft high-quality pitches, capability statements, and other BD presentations in collaboration with relevant partners and the BDM AD.
- Understand the sales cycle and provide guidance to attorneys on lead development, pitching, and follow-up.
- Manage the sales pipeline for assigned practices and partners across regions.
- Oversee the collection of practice experience for accurate profiling.
- Identify and support cross-practice and cross-region opportunities.
- Collaborate with attorneys and marketing colleagues to align strategies and drive overall business development plans.
- Work with partners and the Associate Director to develop strategic plans for practice segments.
- Utilize firm data and technology platforms for informed sales and client development activities.
- Drive profile-raising activities, content, and thought leadership through speaking events, sponsorships, PR, and social media.
- Manage legal directory, award, and ranking opportunities.
- Analyze the value and benefits of profile-raising opportunities.
- Lead strategic planning and execution of client events and speaking engagements.
- Analyze attendee lists and prepare tailored materials to enhance engagement.
- Support attorney follow-up and track outcomes and activities in the CRM system.
- Follow recommended guidelines and practices to enhance efficiency and customer service.
- Communicate departmental guidelines and procedures.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Manage firm resources responsibly and comply with firm operations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree.
- 6 years of business development and marketing experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Transactional experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of relevant software programs.
- Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and techniques.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Extremely detail-oriented.
- Professional demeanor and high emotional intelligence.
- Self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Proven success in developing relationships and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Ability to learn new software, systems, databases, and procedures quickly.

Salary Details:

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range of $155,000 - $180,000, based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This salary is consistent with applicable law.
