JOB TITLE: Legal Assistant

OVERVIEW: The law firm, a global legal entity with over 900 attorneys worldwide, provides innovative solutions to the legal and business challenges posed by evolving global markets.
SUMMARY: Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Legal Assistant performs a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks for legal professionals in the Health Law Department, focusing on operational excellence and customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining client and case files
- Drafting correspondence, memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Managing calendars, including scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings
- Maintaining and updating the internal document management system
- Providing case support and project assistance
- Preparing travel itineraries and coordinating travel logistics
- Processing expense reports and check requests
- Scanning, copying, and managing the flow of incoming and outgoing mail
- Performing other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant legal assistant experience is required
- Must understand Federal and local court rules and procedures, including electronic filing
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
- Familiarity with licensing applications is a plus
- Must possess strong technical skills and the ability to quickly master new systems/applications
- Prior experience with large firm billing software is preferred
- Experience working with a document management system is preferred
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
