Law Firm Seeking Proposals Manager with Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

Overview:

Ropes & Gray, a top-ranked global law firm, is seeking a highly organized and deadline-driven proposals manager to lead our proposals team. This is a key role within our marketing and business development department, responsible for managing the response process for requests for proposals (RFPs), pitches, and other customized materials. The proposals manager will work closely with business and client development, practice development, attorneys, and other team members to ensure timely and strategic responses to client requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry best practices and techniques, as well as experience with proposal generation systems and online RFP submission portals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop a best-in-class process for accessing and responding to proposals, pitches, and RFPs, including tools and templates for consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure timely and strategic responses to client requests, with a focus on maintaining brand standards and quality.
- Manage the response process for preferred provider programs, RFPs, and other customized materials, in collaboration with various departments.
- Provide strategic direction for RFP responses, from single-practice matter RFPs to global cross-practice panel RFPs.
- Offer technical expertise in RFP online portals and technology.
- Work with business and practice development teams to draft standard responses and leverage templates and credentials.
- Manage a comprehensive pitch content library and implement best practices for managing firmwide knowledge.
- Maintain and update a proposal database with advanced search capabilities.
- Continuously refine the response process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in proposal development.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to ensure branding standards are followed.
- Track and analyze proposal outcomes, and report on results.
- Keep frequently requested information up to date with support from business support departments.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree with 6-10 years of business development experience.
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services setting preferred.
- Experience with proposal and RFP responses.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat.
- Familiarity with proposal generation systems and online RFP submission portals.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.

The anticipated salary range for this role is listed below and will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and market data.

Boston: $123,200 - $187,950
New York: $129,100 - $196,900

Working Conditions:
