Lead Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will manage numerous simultaneous projects and works to meet stringent deadlines; therefore, the Lead Paralegal has excellent organizational and planning skills, is meticulous, has a keen eye for detail, and exercises exceptional analytical, conceptualization, and problem-solving skills. Scan incoming mail and monitor deadlines. Make outgoing calls to clients, courts, law enforcement, and city officials. Review and proofread contracts and agreements. Assist with scheduling, calendars, special projects, and communications. Prepare and analyze documents from clients, parties, and non-parties. General case management, including preparing case summaries and research reports for clients. Due diligence, UCC filings, lien searches. Should have 5+ years of law firm experience in real estate and/or small business; experience handling contractual issues and corporate filings; familiarity with filing court documents in state and federal court (e-portal/pacer); superior organizational and multi-tasking skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional customer service skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Familiar with legal terminology; Typing speed 55+ wpm. Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification preferred. Bilingual is a plus. Experience should include drafting demand letters, civil pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, asset purchase agreements, licensing agreements, international contracts, maritime contracts, commercial leases, wills, trusts, and succession plans. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; be self-motivated and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Experience should include court calendaring/scheduling, drafting civil pleadings, discovery, e-filing, e-service, subpoenas, and use of LexisNexis, Clio, and Dropbox.
