Job Title: Director of Pro Bono and Inclusion Programs

Job Responsibilities:

The Director of Pro Bono and Inclusion Programs is responsible for leading and executing the law firm's inclusion and pro bono efforts, along with related strategic planning. The role involves maintaining existing programs and initiating new ones to enhance an inclusive culture and pro bono participation across the firm. The position requires promoting awareness of inclusion and pro bono programming internally among legal practitioners and business professionals, as well as externally.

Diversity and Inclusion Program Responsibilities:

- Lead all inclusion efforts for legal practitioners and business professionals, including strategic planning, implementation, and establishing best practices.
- Serve as an advisor to firm management on diversity and inclusion, interacting with the Executive Committee and other senior leaders.
- Collaborate with the Diversity Committee on programming initiatives and integrate them into the firm’s business development and strategic planning processes.
- Work with talent management teams to create programs designed to enhance inclusive hiring efforts.
- Review internal operational policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement in alignment with diversity and inclusion efforts, working closely with departments to implement changes.
- Implement and coordinate internal training and educational programs for both legal practitioners and business professionals.
- Manage community outreach programs to enhance diversity and inclusion opportunities, such as Scholarship/Internship Programs and Mentoring/Buddy Programs.
- Manage efforts related to Legal Affinity Groups or other assigned groups promoting inclusion across the firm.
- Coordinate client-facing diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives supporting client outreach, business development, marketing strategies, and alumni outreach efforts.
- Maintain and curate diversity-related data and share pertinent information for RFPs, surveys, or other business purposes.
- Attend conferences and meetings to learn about new best practices within the diversity and inclusion landscape and propose continuous improvements to firm initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, and procedures, such as Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Pro Bono Program Responsibilities:

- Manage all pro bono efforts for legal practitioners and business professionals across the firm, overseeing the process from start to finish under the direction of the Pro Bono Equity Shareholder and Senior Director of LRPD.
- Administer day-to-day activities related to ensuring program success, including opening new matters, facilitating conflict checks, and ensuring appropriate team staffing.
- Maintain relations with the firm’s public interest organizations and drive engagement internally, facilitating new relationships and partnerships aligning with firm priorities.
- Manage expenditures and budgeting for pro bono efforts and collaborate with other departments to track cost-benefit analysis.
- Promote the pro bono program both internally and externally, ensuring program details are clearly presented via the firm’s intranet page.
- Align firm policies and procedures to ensure pro bono participation supports the firm’s core values.
- Work closely with Client Services to provide data needed for RFPs.
- Monitor pro bono-related reporting to track hour utilization and participation, collaborating with Legal Recruiting & Professional Development on staffing and compliance with hour policies.

Education and Experience Information:

- A law degree with at least five years of practice experience.
- Management-related experience and a proven commitment to inclusion and pro bono efforts at prior firms.
- Extensive experience in planning, designing, and delivering programs, events, and implementing best practices related to diversity and inclusion in a complex, consensus-driven environment.
- Ability to counsel legal practitioners, business professionals, and management with confidentiality, tact, and resourcefulness.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diversity and inclusion and pro bono best practices in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong presence instilling confidence and understanding of key issues in the diversity, inclusion, and pro bono legal community.
- Interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships and drive consensus, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, legal practitioners, and business professionals.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite products and the ability to analyze and report on data.

Salary Information:

The pay range for this full-time position is between $190,000 USD and $260,000 USD annually. The actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
