Job Title: School of Fish: STEM Careers in IP
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly virtual workshops focusing on introductory information on intellectual property (IP) law and various career options within the IP field.
- Participate in workshops led by attorneys and technology specialists from the law firm.
- Engage in an in-person session that includes interactive education, networking, interview and resume workshops, career planning, and a social reception.
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through involvement in school or community efforts.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must be entering their third or fourth year of undergraduate study or pursuing a graduate degree in a science or engineering field.
- Applicants are required to demonstrate a meaningful commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Salary Information:
- Participants will receive a $1,000 scholarship upon completion of the program.
- The program offers the cost coverage of the LSAT or Patent Office Registration exam fee for those who express interest.
- Participants will receive a discount code for an LSAT or Patent Office Registration Exam prep course.
Additional Information:
- The program will consist of a combination of virtual and in-person sessions, with virtual sessions taking place every Friday from October 10 to November 7, 2025.
- The in-person session is scheduled for the week of December 15, 2025, with exact dates to be determined based on exam schedules. The law firm will cover travel and lodging costs for this session.
- Candidates are expected to attend all five virtual sessions to qualify for the monetary award.
- Each applicant must submit a resume, undergraduate transcript (official or unofficial), and a directed personal statement of 500 words or less, detailing their interest in STEM, patent law, and activities demonstrating their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- The application deadline is July 15, 2025, and selections will be announced in August. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and only complete applications will be considered.
- This program does not offer employment opportunities and is not an internship or other opportunity to work for the law firm.
