Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal will be an integral part of the law firm's employment defense team, collaborating closely with attorneys and other staff members to manage all aspects of assigned cases. Under attorney supervision, the paralegal will be responsible for various tasks, including:
- Preparing pleadings and discovery for federal and state court matters, as well as arbitration proceedings.
- Assisting with federal and state administrative filings.
- Managing wage and hour claims and related data.
- Drafting motions, pleadings, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Analyzing, reviewing, and organizing documents and data produced during discovery, and coordinating document production and responses to discovery requests.
- Preparing deposition and record subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations, coordinating third-party record production, and preparing deposition outlines and summaries.
- Analyzing and reviewing privileged documents.
- Assisting with trial and arbitration preparation, including the preparation and management of trial exhibits.
- Presenting case summaries and potential courses of action to supervising attorneys.
- Conducting limited legal research using tools such as Lexis and Pacer.
- Performing cite-checking when necessary.
- Liaising with courts, opposing counsel, and litigation vendors, including process servers and couriers.
- Staying informed of developments, procedures, and rules in the forums where the office practices.
- Demonstrating basic strategic thinking and initiative in case assignments.
- Maintaining awareness of calendar deadlines.
- Responsible for personal billable time entries and meeting billable requirements.
- Addressing client case status inquiries, including steps in the process, processing times, and appointment issues.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience is required, with experience in employment law being a plus.
- Experience handling federal and state court litigation cases from onset to trial phase.
- Familiarity with class actions and wage and hour productions is advantageous.
- Knowledge of EEOC and state agency procedures is a plus.
- Understanding of federal and state procedural rules.
- Experience with billing hours using software programs, with knowledge of Intapp being a plus.
- Experience with document management software, with Netdocs knowledge being a plus.
- Proficiency in trial preparation is desirable.
- Proficiency in the Windows environment, including Word and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- An ABA Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
