Job Title: Business Immigration Consultant (Experienced Paralegal)
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform substantive and client-facing work in employment-based immigration matters, more so than typical for a Paralegal in a law firm setting.
- Independently handle case preparation and filing of petitions with government agencies, involving document gathering, review, case analysis, and drafting.
- Utilize case management and billing systems to oversee case status, run reports, and assist in case review.
- Conduct case intake with clients, troubleshoot issues, establish case strategies, and recommend solutions and process improvements.
- Produce clear, well-organized written work that accurately applies immigration knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate proactively with foreign nationals and client contacts, providing clear and prompt responses regarding case statuses or general inquiries.
- Meet deadlines that adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and communicate progress, status, and escalations to supervisors.
- Assist in hiring and training new team members and identify ways to improve team productivity and office-wide projects.
- Recognize the impact of changes to immigration policy and work with leadership to incorporate changes into processes.
- Be proficient with case management and reporting tools and technologies used for managing data and information.
- Understand and contribute to team and individual productivity goals.
- Follow documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance, including data privacy protocols.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by regularly seeking opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes, products, or services.
Education and Experience Information:
- Associate’s degree or Paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of business immigration experience.
- Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines.
- Experience using various computer systems, including MS Word and Excel.
- Desire to contribute to a positive work environment, effectively collaborate, and promote teamwork.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this role takes into account various factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, work location, work arrangement, licensure, certifications, and applicable laws.
- A reasonable and good-faith estimate of the current salary range for individuals able to work a hybrid schedule in the office locally is between $75, and $86,.
- Employees may also be eligible for benefits offerings, 401K, and paid time off plans.
