Job Title: Patent Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Patent Paralegal at the law firm will be tasked with managing client portfolios, which include handling all filings and correspondence for ., PCT, and foreign prosecution for assigned clients. Key responsibilities involve creating, revising, and filing prosecution documents in . and PCT applications, corresponding with foreign associates on all facets of foreign prosecution, and timely reporting of official correspondence. The role calls for a high level of attention to detail, organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. The candidate must be adaptable, proactive, and possess strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft products and a comfort level with technology are essential. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team is critical. The role also demands a strong customer service orientation and effective oral and written communication skills to interact with all levels of personnel and clients effectively.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting various intellectual property attorneys to deliver excellent service to clients.
- Preparing and filing, or instructing on all aspects of ., PCT, and foreign prosecution.
- Drafting formality documents, attending to document legalization where necessary, and complying with priority document requirements.
- Reviewing and maintaining a docket of associated deadlines for assigned clients.
- Timely reporting of official communications to clients and foreign associates.
- Consistently achieving a 1500 billable hour requirement, which includes approved non-billable time.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a minimum of four years of experience in international, PCT, and . prosecution. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though a college degree and/or a paralegal certificate from a school approved by the ABA is preferred. Candidates residing in California must meet the state's requirements to be a paralegal as defined by the State of California. Thorough knowledge of patent procedural requirements and USPTO practices is a must.

Salary Information:

The compensation range for this role varies by location, with the actual offered amount ranging between the minimum and midpoint based on factors such as education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity.

- Milwaukee, Detroit, Madison, & Salt Lake City: $75,200 - $105,300
- San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, & Houston: $82,700 - $115,800
- Los Angeles: $86,300 - $120,800
- Boston, New York, & Washington DC: $89,900 - $125,900
- Silicon Valley & San Francisco: $94,100 - $131,700
