Job Title: Real Estate Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert level real estate support in commercial purchase, sale, administration, and leasing matters.
- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, and legal codes.
- Draft and negotiate legal documents such as easements, lease amendments, contract amendments, development agreements, CC&Rs, escrow agreements, and other transaction-related documents.
- Compose, prepare, copy, transcribe, and distribute internal contract and title digests, closing binders, and other requested documents.
- Close real estate transactions, including coordination with landlords, buyers, sellers, and title companies.
- Provide guidance and leadership to other paralegals and legal assistants.
- Conduct title reviews and manage title issues throughout the escrow process.
- Update appropriate parties on transaction status and work with in-house attorneys and the real estate development team to coordinate various real estate transactions.
- File correspondence and legal documents in office filing systems.
- Update and organize binders and various charts of real estate transactions (acquisitions and leases) in escrow.
- Arrange conference calls with internal and external parties.
- Support real estate projects, such as the development of real estate-related processes, policies, form transaction documents, and training materials.
- Manage and maintain internal databases, systems, and files.
- Represent company values professionally in the community and at public gatherings.
- Exhibit strong project management skills and assist managers.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- This position requires a minimum of eight years of paralegal experience, preferably legal, although not required.
- Strong understanding of technical legal terminology.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite programs such as Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, etc., are required.
- This position also requires excellent communication, organizational, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to take initiative and work independently with a high level of independent motivation.
- Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect, and upholding company values is key.
- A paralegal certificate is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
